What is BASE COAT and do I need it???

September 26, 2012

Are you exploring the wonderful world of Nail polish??? Doing your own nails? Well, then you should know how important it is to use a Base Coat before you make them look all fancy.

A base coat protects your nails by creating a barrier from the damaging effects of nail polish such as staining, peeling and much more. It also will give your polished nails a more even texture. Some base coats prevent breaking, splitting and peeling and some base coats are made to fill in any lines, ridges and grooves to give the nails a smoother looking appearance.
Here is the #3 Base Coats I'm currently loving!!!

Sally Hansen, Ultimate Shield is easy on the pockets, drys fast and does the job!

OPI Natural Nail Base Coat is loved by many! Its the perfect base for OPI Nail polish and it does the job!

Ok yall, this is my FAVORITE Base Coat!!!!! If you don't know about Butter London then honey you're missing out!!! Butter London is Formaldehyde free and pretty much awesome!!! This base coat does the job and some!!!

As always I hope this helps :-)

#3 Concealers that are a MUST HAVE!!!!

September 24, 2012

Dark circles??? Well honey most of us got them, but don't worry I'm about to tell ya what ya can do to quickly conceal it. Here are my TOP 3 concealers I'm loving at the moment.

But WAIT!!! Do you know what Concealer is and HOW to apply it? Lucky you, I blogged about that a while back just click here--------> NO more Dark Circles or Blemishes!

1.) I am NOT a huge fan of Bare Minerals so I am really shocked I am saying this but I am LOVING Bare Minerals "NEW" SPF 20 Correcting Concealers. As of late, it has been my GO-TO concealer. I like that its very creamy and  blendable. The medium to full coverage is GREAT!!! $20

2.) Another creamy and blendable concealer that I really like is the 24/7 Glide-On Concealer by Urban Decay. It's very clever that a concealer can be in a pencil. Which makes it easy for a on the go teen who needs to quickly touch up her dark circles. $19

3.) Last but not least I told yall before that I love the Flawless perfection concealer by Black Opal and honey I STILL love it!!! This is a  full coverage creme concealer with Vitamins A, C & E that helps hide dark circles without causing caking or creasing. $4.75

Well as always I hope this helps!

Beauty Sleep is a MUST!!!!

September 19, 2012

Do you have a decent bed time??? As an Adult, BEDTIME is a thing of the past LOL! As a teen its something most of you may still have. Either way good ol' Beauty sleep is really a MUST!! "The most important item in your makeup bag is a good night of sleep" says the beautiful Tyra Banks

I found a very interesting article that I wanted to share with yall from Dr. Oz Website. Dr. Oz and his team are figuring out the science behind why you need sleep in order to look good. Turns out that people who sleep more, look better. That's because sleep deprivation is a form of stress. And like other stressful conditions like illness, trauma and emotional hardship, sleep deprivation causes your body to make more steroids. And its those steroids that decrease the formation of collagen, the structural layer of our skin. The decreased collagen causes thinning of the skin and wrinkles. It also weakens the barrier function of the skin, allowing toxins to penetrate, and leading to wounds, infections and even skin cancers. As if that's not enough, sleep deprivation contributes to obesity, affecting your health, as well as your appearance.

Soooooo, let me ask you again...Do you have a decent bed time???? I bet you do after reading that!! As always I hope this helps. For more of Dr. Oz great beauty tips check out

Did you KNOW?

September 17, 2012

Honestly honey, I'm not a big fan of how tomatoes taste but they soon will be in my kitchen at all times. I'm sure you are wondering why??? Well DID YOU KNOW, tomatoes can and is known to diminish blackheads.

When pores become clogged with dirt, dead skin cells, and  your skin's natural oil we would then get a highly unwanted blackhead or pimple.  Tomatoes contain unique acidic properties that work as an perfect exfoliate. Its a beyond great way unclog pores and get rid of blackheads

Health-Guidance to better health gives great methods on how to use the tomato to fight your unwanted acne listed below.

Remedy Method # 1
The first method is as straightforward as it gets: take a tomato, cut it, and rub it on your face where the acne shows. This method isn’t as effective as some others that will be listed but for minor breakouts it could actually be preferred as it does not involve a lengthy amount of application time. All you do it cut the tomato in half, take half to the sink and smear the cut side against your face. Massage the tomato juice into the skin for a few seconds after application, and then you simply rinse it off with warm water.

Remedy Method # 2
A second method called the tomato facial mask is a lengthier process but it works well for even tough cases of acne. Get a tomato and cut an "X" at the top of it. Run the tomato under warm water for a minute or two, then peel the skin (which should come off rather easily after the warm water wash). Gut the tomato of seeds entirely then take the pulp that you have left and mash it up. Turn the pulp into tomato paste and once the paste is sufficiently smooth in consistency, apply as a facial mask over the entire face just as you would apply a cream facial mask. At this point you’ll need about an hour where you can hang about and just leave the mask on your face to harden and work its magic. After the full hour, rinse the mask off thoroughly.

Remedy Method # 3
Yet another way to use tomatoes in the treatment of acne is available for those who don’t feel comfortable leaving pulpy tomato on their face for an hour or for those that don’t like the idea of rubbing half of a tomato across their face. Simply take one tablespoon of tomato juice, mix it up with about three or four drops of lime juice in a small dish, then apply the mixture to your affected areas of acne with a cotton ball. This application needs to set for four or five minutes to be effective as the acidity in lime juice needs a bit more time than commonly featured over-the-counter ingredients like alcohol to dry out your skin but it works just as effectively given the full five minutes. Once the application has set for five minutes, rinse with warm water.

As always I hope this helps :-) Please comment or share!
